I call this Postcards from the Sandwich Generation as a nod to Carrie Fisher’s memoir Postcards from the Edge, where she found amusing moments in her tumultuous struggle with drug addiction. She was also quite self-deprecating which I very much relate to as I am not proud of many of my ways as I continue to juggle my kids (teens now- aargh) and deal with my poor mother who has been suffering from dementia for the past 6 years (with all of the attendant ups and downs - and occasional expletives!)  However, like Carrie,  finding some amusing moments has helped guide me through the more narrow paths & maybe I can get a smile or just a nod of acknowledgment from you, dear reader.
